Your website sucks! +Updated: Apology (sort of)

Dear {Unnamed Company},

Your website sucks. Most of the links lead to the wrong section of the website, the information that is given is not complete– there is NO description of the services offered, and you have vicious loops. All of your pages say 2007. And worst of all, your prices are almost 2x higher than your competitors, who have more informative and organized websites. Nobody is going to pick you based on your website, so why bother having one in the first place? You are wasting people’s time.

I understand that people can’t update websites all the time, sometimes I don’t blog for months or years, but you are running a business website, not a personal one. You can at least change the date from 2007.  If you were constantly updating your site, I could see how links would get misdirected or dead or screwed up, but that is not the case, so I must conclude that you do not care about your business. That may not be true, but it is the impression that you give by allowing a shitty website to represent your business. Your site may look alright on the surface, but the content and navigation is crap.

Sincerely,

Woman agitated by your crappy website

UPDATE: I see you have a newer version of your website, at a new address, it’s been updated in 2008, and the links all work. Congratulations! HOWEVER, I only found it after I had been thoroughly irritated by the outdated 2007 site, which happens to be the number one search result for your company. You need to shut down that – immediately. Some people will give up after enountering that shitstorm and not look any further for your services. Also, I see you have lowered your prices, so that they are on par with your competitors. Good move. In addition, the new website contains more information, and an easy-to-read-at-a-glance schedule as opposed to the crap-fest you were offering before. Thank you. I might give you a call someday.
