  1. Sliced finger on tomato can lid.
  2. Attacked by volcanic tomato splatter resulting in numerous first degree burns and a messy stove, floor, countertop and cupboards.
  3. Memory loss- forgot a number of things that I made mental notes to remember.
  4. Bloating and gas due to lactose intolerance, which I forgot I had.
  5. My bad knee let me know that I cannot carry as much weight as I used to. Canned goods weigh a lot and I’m probably an inch shorter than yesterday.

ouch. that sounds like a rough day. Did you at least get some decent food from it? I know it’s bad with the splater. I had spagetti sauce on eye lid once. (yes, I was wearing my glasses, how bad is that?) hope you are recovering today.

Sadly, the garlic sank to the bottom and started to burn. I managed to get most of it out, so the sauce doesn’t taste noticeably burnt. Sauce on the eye lid sounds like the worst. I managed not to get anything on my face or clothes, which was nice.

I used 2 cans of tomato sauce, so that’s why there was so much splatter. I figured I was saving time by making more sauce than usual, and I needed to use a pot this time. I usually make it in a shallow pan, so there’s not as much splatter. It’s the first time I’ve used that pot for sauce, with the extra tomatoes. Damn tomatoes and their sharp can lids. I hate wearing bandaids while cooking etc.
