Dream Analysis

I just noticed that I’ve had two previous ‘my computer was stolen’ dreams. I thought last weekend’s dream theme was new, but apparently not. I never would have remembered if I hadn’t written about it in this blog and if WordPress had not started automatically generated “Possibly Related Posts”. I hope my computer will not be stolen. That would make me very sad.

Years ago I used to have dreams that I was afraid to do cartwheels or that I couldn’t do cartwheels. I could not do them as a kid, but did I learn when I got older, but then hadn’t done them for a couple years because there’s not much space in my apartment- I would have to move everything to the sides, and even then, it’s possible that I could veer off course and hit something, and then I would injure myself, and possibly damage my television, which is an unacceptable risk. Anyway, the cartwheel dreams were happening with greater frequency, so I figured that I should do one, in real life, and see what happened. I was kind of scared (in real life) because I hadn’t done one in so long, and I was using the apartment hallway, which is carpeted, but narrow enough that if I went diagonal, I would hit the wall. And that would hurt. I managed to do the cartwheel, and I don’t think I’ve had a cartwheel dream since then. The dream was probably about something other than cartwheels, but I’m not sure what. In any case, I’m glad I don’t have them anymore.

So, I’m glad the computer dreams only happen about once a year. And hopefully my computer doesn’t have to be stolen in real life for me to stop having the dreams. Maybe it’s to remind myself to never leave my computer unattended. I see other people doing it all the time, and their computers never seem to be stolen. But I guess if it were stolen, I wouldn’t see the computer anymore. Sometimes I think it would be nice to just go to the bathroom without packing everything up, but in the grand scheme of things, two minutes to pack up versus having your computer stolen? No brainer.
