The Kitchen Sink

Last night I had to unclog my kitchen sink with a plunger. I had no idea it would be so gross. I know it could have been a lot worse- I was lucky that I didn’t have to resort to chemical treatments, but I just had not anticipated how filthy it would be. There was a lot of black silt and other fine particulate matter that made the dishwater very cloudy. There was also a big glob of something that I could not identify. I just threw it into the garbage and used my sieve to get at the bigger black pieces of crap floating around in the water. Afterwards, I disinfected the sink overnight with some bleach.

I didn’t go running last night. I might go today. It’s a lot cooler and my toe is not red anymore. Although, I think the most sensible thing to do would be to not run, because sometimes the toe looks okay, but really isn’t and once the inflammation progresses beyond a certain point, it takes so much longer for it to heal.

I’m worried that my right bunion is getting bigger. I know this because I have thought about it a few times this week and I also dreamt about it last night. I dreamt that my big toe joint was so flexible that I could bend it 90 degrees to the side. It was very strange, and in my dream that range of motion was considered to be normal, while in real life, it’s totally crazy and would hurt like hell.

o.o wow, 90-degree-turning toes. Strange dream ya got.

The way you described it, I never thought a sink could have been that detestable before. :) But now I shall heed your warnings! ;)

Yes, it was truly disgusting. Even though the drain was getting slower and slower, I never thought the sink would ever become completely clogged, as I usually do a decent job of keeping food out of the sink, but apparently, not good enough.
