Monday Night Television + Poorly Behaved Strangers
The Montreal Canadiens lost again tonight. That’s all I’m going to say about that.
I missed the first 8 minutes of Gossip Girl. I was devastated. Well, not really, but I was at least mildly disappointed. I was watching the hockey game and cleaning up and forgot it was on. It was another stellar episode, seriously, it’s a very well written and well executed show; it is excellent entertainment. There’s intrigue, mystery plots, and pretty people with nice hair and clothes. What more could you want?
I also saw bits and pieces of CARRIER and Samantha Who. I would recommend those as well.
The magnolia tree blossoms are shedding rapidly and turning rusty brown. There’s a new magnolia tree that just appeared in a planter on the sidewalk two days ago. It makes me sad to see trees trapped in a pot. Today I saw a man in a business suit walk by it and throw his apple core into the magnolia pot. Nice. There was a garbage can within sight of him too. I just don’t understand people like that. I took a mental picture of him, but it has since faded. Earlier in the day I saw a woman chuck her cigarette butt on the ground and then walk into French Connection to manhandle the clothes with her cigarette-stained fingers. She was wearing a 3/4 length sleeve coat. I do not like those. I enjoy 3/4 length sleeve tops, but not coats.
Below is the poor magnolia tree, stuck in a planter, unable to establish roots and abused by apple-core-throwing businessmen. Speaking of businessmen, I am reminded of one of my favorite 30 Rock quotes:
