I’ve become obsessed with Ryan Adams’ blog.
It’s highly entertaining, both hilarious and introspective.

*Update 09.03.08: There’s a lot of fickle-blogging going on and I can’t keep up with it all since I cannot be on the internet at all hours of the day and my feed-reader isn’t keeping all the content anymore.
*Update 09.08.08: Foggy is redirecting to http://cave.cardinology.com. And there’s mailbox surprises every now and then if you sign up at http://www.cardinology.com/
*Update 09.14.08: Foggy is gone again, the page now redirects to cardinology.com. I didn’t follow what happened since I was away this weekend, and stuck on a non-moving train for approximately 1.5 hours, and another 2 hours while moving, but I read the last post, which was re-blogged 78 times. In the meantime, you can listen to some new Cardinals tunes here and here. Enjoy. And now, I have to go buy some milk.
*Update 09.22.08: Foggy is back online again and Crossed Out Name arrived in the Cardinology mailbox, courtesy of Wilson and Barnabus, along with tour poster postcards.

Yes, he got married. That post has been deleted, but I copied it below.
“
p.s. i got married to happiness and music.

music wore a chord-aroy dress
happiness just smiled.

- I have downloaded an obscene amount of excellent quality soundboard recordings of his many concerts from archive.org, which stores concerts from trade-friendly artists. They archive other things too, but I’ve just been downloading RA concerts. It’s a pretty awesome site. And if you’re not sure if you want to download something, you can stream from the site to sample the songs first. I don’t bother sampling, I just download. It’s all good.
- One of my favorites: Ryan Adams @ The Fez, NYC October 2, 2000. Includes “I Want It That Way” and talk of boy bands and Mac-Donalds.
- I just finished listening to this: Ryan Adams @ Olympia Theatre – Dublin, November 28, 2002. Great show.
- This is also very nice: Ryan Adams @ Carling Academy – Glasgow, February 15, 2006. There’s excellent banter about hydroplaning, his mom learning to text message, who ate all the pies, smelly socks, and other gems.
- One of the best Ryan Adams stories ever is from the show at Foley’s Cellar on February 18, 2001. It’s track #4, listed as ‘Interlude’ and you’ll have to get a SHN file converter because they are not streaming this show, but it is well worth it. It’s the Hardee’s Chicken story, he talks about chicken and biscuits, and re-animators, and sanitary working conditions. It’s ten minutes long, and it is awesome. And if you go to all that trouble to get the SHN file converter, you might as well just download the whole show. If you’re on a Mac, there’s a freeware program called Shorten that will convert SHN files to WAV files so you can play them.
- *Update 06.28.08: Just listened to this- Ryan Adams & The Sweetheart Revolution @ The Paradiso – Amsterdam, February 6, 2002. It’s over 3 hours of awesome goodness. Another SHN show, see above.
- *Update 07.31.08: This is my new favorite solo show: Ryan Adams @ Y Theatre, Leicester UK – May 9, 2001.
